2015 U.S. Open Champ Wins with Adidas

????????????????????????????????????

Who is Novak Dojokovic besides an athlete, the #1 ranked tennis player in the world and after this weekend, two time U.S. Open winner? He’s the poster child for Adidas athletics and one of the most sought after celebrities in the world. Over the last 20 years, business, athletics and a whole lot of science have converged to advance technology to create equipment for the modern athlete that keeps them on top of their game for decades. Long gone are the days when professional athletes had their heyday for a decade; now new equipment, better materials and sophisticated diagnostics play into the fitness and performance of top athletes.

Dojokovic began playing tennis at the age of four. His coach saw a focused, talented athlete in the pre-schooler and took extra time to foster his skills. And luckily for the game of tennis, Dojokovic was receptive to his coach’s efforts. During middle school, he became so advanced that his coach recommended he move out of Serbia to get the training he would need to play on the Professional Tennis Tour. He traveled to Germany for several years; in 2001 he became a triple European champion in singles, doubles and team competitions.

In 2004, he was ranked 606th in the world; after Davis Cup success as well as in a ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) tour, he ended the year at 184. In the years to come he competed in Grand Slam tournaments that propelled him into the top 20; but it wasn’t until 2008 that he won his first championship in the Australian Open.

According to his website “ Novak Dojokovic had an impressive winning streak – 43 matches won in a row. There is no active player in the world that managed to achieve such a run.”

Shortly thereafter, the tennis star declared his love for Adidas apparel and wore it head-to-toe. Then in 2013, he signed a longterm footwear deal with the sporting goods giant because he had been wearing their shoes for years and wouldn’t change. The Barricade 7, Dojokovic’s first shoe debuted at the French Open and is still a top-seller today.
