As a heat wave descends on the St. Louis metro area, we’d like to take the opportunity to discuss a hot topic (ah, see what we did there) in the world of performance apparel: what in the world does moisture wicking mean? We’ve mentioned moisture wicking around here before when discussing the Adidas Climalite® line, but it can be a confusing term. Individually, the words make perfect sense. Moisture, in this context is your sweat. Wicking calls to mind a candle. No, our custom apparel will not make a candle out of your perspiration. It will help keep you dry, though.
You see, moisture wicking fabrics pull sweat off of your body and into the fabric, which is typically a type of polyester. The fabric dries quickly, and you don’t have to deal with the heaviness of a wet, sweaty shirt, the irritation, or the chafing. Now, we’re not saying you won’t still deal with B.O., but getting rid of all that sweat can’t hurt, right?
We’ve shown you some examples recently of polo shirts perfect for your company’s summer uniform. The Adidas examples we discussed last week are made with the Adidas Climalite® technology, and will help keep you and your employees dry during the sweatiest of days. If by the time this heat wave is through (or if you tap out on day one, we won’t judge) you decide it’s time for something a little more summer appropriate, give Winning Streak a call at (888) 570-6194 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. You can always stop by our showroom in Dupo, Illinois to see some samples, or find your local sales representative. Our staff will find the perfect solution to your heat problem. Don’t sweat it, we have you covered. Ditch the suit, wick the moisture, lick the heat.
